Previous Work

I've just thought that there are no images of my previous work on here, so I have decided to upload some from my first and second years at university. It does mess around with the order of things but hey, whats the point of this site if there is nothing on it!

Shelving Project, Year one

Here I am interested in strong flowing forms, modern contemporary designs and the ability to fit into any setting.

This was carved out of a single piece of timber, and is intended to be scaled up, to form a shelf, as well as a focal point for a room. I have not thought about use of colour or materials, but I would like it still carved from wood, in dark colours, but showing the grain, stained or waxed perhaps?

I admit my Photoshop skills are not brilliant, but here is an example.

Graffiti Chairs, Year Two

Being interested in Graffiti, I did an experiment. For the Shop Display project I used two found chairs, painted white and left somewhere where they would be used and abused. I left these two in the Foundation Art and Design room for one day, see how mad these people are? I put some stencils on them myself, to get people started, but I am extremely happy with the outcome. I was interested in the layering of peoples work, if people went over others, and how long it would take. I think they are very interesting chairs now, with different colours, textures and toys added. They even had shoes on when I collected them!

I have now varnished these to protect them and they are now being used at home.
